Haute Couture Fall 2008

For the first real post I just wanna say how much Im impressed by all this new Couture stuff.

The most recent Haute Couture collections that showed in Paris by the likes of Christian Dior, Valentino and Givenchy were something to be amazed at.

Personally my favorite was definately Christian Dior. The collection was a mesmerising mixture of fluid colours and soft and gentle fabrics that could literally be worn for all sorts of big events. I can already see hundreds of celebs wearing this stuff.
John Galliano manages to deliver only the best, again!

Top 4 Looks? Right here:

Other favourites of mine included Givenchy and Elie Saab.

Givenchy presented a very vivid and graphic collection that was full of body-con shapes and very figure hugging fashion.

The dominant colours were purple, black and white......Givenchy's classic colors.

Givenchy is a classic favourite, Couture or Ready To Wear however this season it was slightly disappointing to see Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci deliver such a "simple" collection.

But needless to say it was a very captivating show.

Elie Saab ( a regular favourite) delivered a much loved collection overflowing with floral motifs and very classic pink/brown colors.

Elie Saab is known for his very elegant and glamorous fashion that seems to continuously show up on the red carpet. This collection was no exception, full of OTT drapery and amazing print detail.

The biggest disappointment for me from this season's Haute Couture was Valentino. Usually galmorous and ultra-feminine Valentino showcased a variety of shapes and colours that are not normally seen. This sudden difference is of course because of the recent position change in the company from Mr Valentino Garavani and Miss Alessandra Facchinetti.
I personally did not enjoy seeing either Mr Valentino resign from his position as Chief Designer or this recent collection.
